The TACO Party

When: 7:00 pm, this Saturday (August 29, 1998)
Where: Gary Miller's house, 5520 Aylesboro Ave (map and directions below)
Who: all CSD faculty and grad students are invited
Why: the IC
Hosts: Theory: Algorithms and COmplexity (faculty host: Gary Miller; student co-organizers: Adam Berger and Carl Burch)

Abstract:

In recent years, organizers have used Big Bang food distribution at IC parties. At this event, we investigate the incremental approach, where party-goers construct their dishes from individual ingredients. Our medium of investigation is the Mexico-developed taco, in particular the vegetarian and beef varieties. We contend that incremental distribution leads to more conversation possibilities, better nutrition awareness, and happier party-goers.

Directions:

  1. Begin at CMU. Head east down Forbes.
  2. Turn left (east) onto Aylesboro. (This occurs just before Forbes hits Schenley and turns toward Murray.)
  3. Proceed one and a half blocks. 5520 Aylesboro is on your right, between Murdoch and Wightman.
