Excursions
The conference offers two options for excursions on the afternoon
of Sunday, March 18: Whitewater rafting on the
Yougiogheny River at Ohiopyle State Park, and a visit to Fallingwater, Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpiece
built for the Kaufmann family near Ohiopyle in 1939.
You must sign up for the excursion on the
on-line registration page by
May 26. Spots cannot not be guaranteed after this date.
The charge for both excursions is $50.
Both excursions start promptly at 12:00 noon at the University Center and end
at 6:00pm back at Carnegie Mellon University. They include a box lunch
on the bus.
This excursion consists of lunch, a bus ride to the
Ohiopyle State
Park, whitewater rafting instructions, and a rafting trip down the
Youghiogheny River.
No special equipment is required for this trip (life vests will be
provided), but you should wear clothing that you are comfortable in
when wet. The tour will be led by experienced rafting guides who
will provide instructions before you get onto the water.
This excursion consists of lunch, a bus ride to and tour of beautiful
Fallingwater, Frank
Lloyd Wright's architectural masterpiece, situated in the Pennsylvania mountains
southeast of Pittsburgh.
