Payment of Immigration Processing Fees
for Faculty, Staff and Visitors
- No federal funds may be used to pay for immigration processing.
- Immigration processing and attorney fees for faculty are may be
paid from either the FRAS account, another discretionary fund, or a
non-federal contract, but are not paid from the department's general
operating fund.
- Immigration processing and attorney fees for staff, visitors, and
special faculty (including postdoctoral fellows) may be paid either by
the individual, from a discretionary account, or from other non-federal
sources. Payment by faculty project funds must be agreed to and
the source of the funds must be identified in writing by the faculty
member prior to beginning processing.
- Immigration processing and attorney fees for dependents are the
responsibility of the employee.
