We'd meant to spent one night in Islamorada and the next in Key West, but once we reached our hotel on Upper Matecumbe there didn't seem to be any reason to leave. So we stayed and did a bit of diving and boating...

Without a doubt, the best sight of the day was this 3' wide stingray. Upon seeing him, Megan grabbed me and we both watched him settle down onto the sand and cover himself up. In the first picture you can see just his eyes, tail and vauge body outline. Then one of the divers startled him and I got to take a few pictures while he was moving before settling down once again.
In the first of these three you can see the cloud he makes when flipping the sand up over himself to provide concealment.
One couple on our boat successfully hand-harvested this 2.5-3lb beast of a lobster.

We always rent our boats from Robbie's, where one can also gawk at (and feed) the enourmous tarpons which congregate at the end of the dock.
Finally, we got the dubious privilege of following the last car to make it over the Key Largo drawbridge before it opened, so we had an unobstructed view...
