Students of Kari
Students of Kari Merlina perform a piece representing the element "air". This elegant veil piece was originally performed at the Elements show in early 2006.
Narah, Jala, Nandita, Kari, Olivia and Maria
The focus of the piece is a celebration of the ancient, sacred connection women have through birth, the energy of their bodies, and the elements. Narah's baby, the inspiration for the performance, is due in March.
Joanna Abel
Choreography by Joanna Abel. She is accompanied by jazz musicians Phil Salvato, Ron Wilson and Ron Bosetti performing the song "Jordu" by Duke Jordan.
Norman Papernick and Jenda Domaracki
Norm and Jenda are thrilled to finally be dancing on the same stage together. Involvement in this creative community has inspired them to create a fusion of their skills with a traditional Scottish wedding song titled "Rith-Ill Ale"
Bonnie Trucco, Rita Wilson and Amanda Budai
Bonnie, Rita and Amanda make their second appearance as Terpsichori, which in Greek means "Muse of the Dance". They are joyfully dancing to Cybele from Jeremiah Soto's Shawaza.
Students of Maria
The piece, choreographed by Maria Hamer of Zafira Dance Company for her intermediate/advanced class, is a fusion of modern, jazz and bellydance to a contemporary song. The music is "Black Cherry" by artist Goldfrapp.
Tribe Taksim
This piece is performed to a medley of music using American Tribal Style Belly Dance created by Carolena Nericcio of Fat Chance Belly Dance.
