Back Pack Portability

The snake robot with mobile base needed to be able to be easily carried over a rugged terrain where a large and bulky Pelican case is not feasible. A duffle bag would work but puts the wieght of the robot solely on the arm of the individual carryign it. This leaves a sturdy back pack as the only option.

We chose a standard military Alice pack with frame. This pack allows it to be easily integrated into military scenarios and allows for hands free carrying capability for the operator. A protective shell was made to fit around the robot/mobile base combination and inside the Alice pack.
