Directions to the Linn Run division of Forbes State Forest

Note that this is NOT Linn Run State Park. Do NOT follow signs to the state park.
  1. Right on Forbes, towards Squirrel Hill.
  2. Right on Wightman.
  3. Left onto Pocusset at the end of Wightman.
  4. Hard Right at the 5-way intersection.
  5. Left at the fork (direction: Monroeville / I376 east)
  6. Take I376 east about 10 miles, past Monroeville, to I76 east (the turnpike).
  7. I76 east (direction: Harrisburg) about 30 miles.
  8. Take the Donegal / PA31 exit.
  9. Left after the toll booths.
  10. Left onto PA 711 North.
  11. Follow PA 711 about 10 miles to Ligonier.
  12. Right onto US 30 East.
  13. Follow US 30 East about 5-10 miles up a steep hill. At the crest, pay attention.
  14. Right at "The Springs At Laurel Mountain" / "Laurel Mountain Village." There is a billboard. This is shortly after the sign telling you the elevation of the pass.
  15. Follow this small road about 3-5 miles.
  16. Left at the fork onto Laurel Summit Road. This is a dirt road that turns off just before entering the ski resort. The other direction is guarded by gate there, which may be open or closed.
  17. Right into the "overflow parking" (the second parking area you'll reach). Notice the warming hut and outhouses to your left.
