CA day 01-07, 2004: Apple WWDC 2004
A few months ago I applied for Apple's scholarship to attend WWDC (World
Wide Developer Conference) - the admission would have cost more than
$1,300. I decided to come to experience what it's like to sit in Steve
Job's "reality distortion field". After a week for the conference, Iman
would fly to CA to meet me to have another week of vacation.
Since I didn't bring my digicam for the WWDC, all of these pictures
were taken by a friend I made during the conference - thank you, Hung-Yau
Lin!
Moscone West, the venue of WWDC 2004. It's at the intersection
of the 5th and the Howard Street. |
Apple placed 2 double-sided big posters, touting that Tiger would
be the source of inspiration for the folks at Redmond. This
is at the 2nd floor of Moscone. |
A closer shot. |
On Thursday - the day before the last day of WWDC, we were sent
to Apple's Cupertino campus. This is the lawn surrounded by
the office buildings. Center was the band they hired for the
event. People were getting food in the nearby tents and finding
a seat here to enjoy the show. |
A new friend - Hung-Yau Lin from Taiwan. He's also a PhD student
(in National Taiwan Univ.). Without his digicam I wouldn't
have all of these wonderful pictures during the WWDC! |
The food was, well, ok. Philip Schiller (Senior VP of Worldwide
Product Marketing) started the show, and the music was, well,
loud. |
The crowd was gathering around the stage. |
The famous "1 Infinite Loop" sign. |
