Research

The ABLE Group is primarily interested in research that involves software architectural approaches to:

  • Improving the quality of software systems with new design tools, notations, and methods.
  • Coping with the emerging software challenges of ubiquity, pervasiveness, heterogeneity, mobility, and naive users.

Software architecture has a long history of research at Carnegie Mellon, the premier institution in the area of software architecture, with strong groups in both the School of Computer Science and the Software Engineering Institute.
