• "The Art of Electronics", Horowitz, Paul and Hill, Winfield, 2nd edition, Cambridge University Press 1989. Although written in 1989, this book is probably still the best electronics textbook around. The authors are concerned with getting things done, and know all the pitfalls that people are liable to make.
