Gun-Lovin’ Actresses

Lætitia Casta taking aim with a revolver.

French model Lætitia Casta taking a shot. I have no idea where this picture comes from, but I would love to know. It follows that I also have no idea why Ms. Casta is being pictured with a gun, or whether she enjoys shooting them or not.

In case the title of this page is not obvious, this page displays quotes from actresses (and models and any other famous women that I can find) indicating that they enjoy playing with guns.

Please, if you know of additional models, actresses, or other famous women who enjoy guns, please let me know of them. Please provide citations to the evidence.

Heidi Androl

Stars as “Hottie #2” in Not Another Teen Movie.

Maxim US Edition, Issue 49, January 2002, Page 26:

Other hobbies include bow-hunting [and] shooting guns. [Heidi modeled] for Remington firearms. “There was a poster of me in a camo bikini that said, ‘The Ultimate Hunting Partner,’ ” she recalls.

Headshot of Yasmine

Yasmine Bleeth

Actress known for Baywatch, Nash Bridges, and, most recently, Titans.

Maxim US Edition, Issue 14, December 1998, Page 115:

Maxim: So are you going to be packing heat? [Regarding her role in Nash Bridges.]

YB: Oh, yeah. I need to be comfortable with a pistol, so I went to a firing range and shot everything form a .38 Special to semiautomatics. I’m actually a lousy shot, but it’s more important to look like you know what you’re doing.

Okay, I admit it, this one is not exactly a ringing endorsement, but it does sound like she took it seriously.

Headshot of Caprice

Caprice Bourret

Model (famous for Wonder Bra), actress, and recording artist.

Later, December 2000:

Later: And now you’re back in the States, we assume you’ve got yourself a gun?

Caprice: No. I think I’m one of the few Americans who doesn’t own one. But I can certainly handle one. I fire them all the time at shooting ranges—I love it. You go out with your mates and shoot. It’s a very social sport.

Headshot of Laurie

Laurie Fortier

Actress who has appeared in V.I.P., Cupid, Boy Meets World, and The In Crowd.

FHM US Edition, Issue 6, November 2000, Page 36:

…[She] has even been known to engage in gunplay on occasion.

“I’m a pretty good shot,” she insists. “My ex-boyfriend would drive his pickup while I’d sit in the back and shoot at stuff. I’ve killed a couple of field rabbits in my time….”

Headshot of Andrea

Andrea Parker

Famous for the role of Miss Parker on The Pretender.

TV Guide Online Chat, 14 October 1998:

r_saxe:What type of gun do you use on The Pretender?

Miss Parker: A lady’s Smith & Wesson 9mm. You didn’t ask what I carry in real life.

TV Guide, 10 November 1999:

When Parker isn’t working she indulges in some pastimes her character would approve of: guns and fast cars. “I have a huge target at the L.A. gun club with eight perfect shots to the heart and eight perfect shots to the head,” she says, “and I signed it ‘Thanks for the therapy, Andrea Parker.’ ”
Headshot of Laura

Laura Prepon

Part of the cast of Fox’s That ’70s Show.

Stuff US Edition, Issue 9, August 2000, Page 30:

Lately, she’s been spending her free time playing with her newest toy: a Mini-14 semiautomatic rifle. “I love the energy you feel when you shoot,” she says. “Some people get a little freaked out by it, but I am so into guns.”

Maxim US Edition, Issue 37, January 2001, page 81:

[Laura’s secret hobby is] going to the firing range. “It’s fun,” she says, “and I think it’s a good thing to know. But I’m not supposed to talk about guns, because it freaks some people out.”

Headshot of Jeri

Jeri Ryan

Part of the cast of UPN’s Star Trek: Voyager, and formerly on NBC’s Dark Skies.

Bikini, January 1999, page 45:

“I was an army brat,” she says of her gypsy-like formative years. “Dad was in the army for almost 30 years.” Which explains where Jeri got her firm handshake, though it’s actually not the reason she’s (and I’m not kidding here) proficient with firearms.

“That I actually learned from Dark Skies,” she explains, referring to the X-Files-esque show she appeared on before Voyager. “I love it, shooting all the guns. I shot M-16s, and 45s, and 22s.”

She does not, however, have the same enthusiasm for the weapons on Star Trek. “I hate the phasers,” she growls. “They’re so anticlimatic. It’s really depressing. I was so excited last season because I had this episode where they gave me this big phaser rifle and told me to come out of the turbo lift and shoot these guys. So I walk out of the turbo lift and I’m like ‘ugh, ugh, ugh’ [acts like she’s shooting people]. But they were like, ‘Uh, no. It’s a phaser, there’s no kickback.’ I just went, ‘Aw, come on, you can’t even pretend there’s a little kickback?’ ” she says, whining. “I was so upset, because I love it, there’s just a big adrenaline rush when shoot these guns. They created a monster on Dark Skies, I was like ‘I’m gonna join the NRA! This is great!’ ” she says, now yelling.

“Sorry, I get a little excited when I talk about firearms.”
