Student Team Wins $25K at Datathon

Adarsh Prasad and Enxu Yan, Ph.D. students in machine learning, and Akhil Chaturvedi, a graduate student in biomedical engineering, won first place and a $25,000 prize in the Citadel/Citadel Securities Datathon, hosted by CMU’s Department of Statistics March 25. The runner-up team of math major Andrew Liu, physics major John Bostanci and computer science graduate student Hui Han Chin received a $750 swag bag. Both teams will travel to New York City in November for "The Data Open," which carries a $100K grand prize.
