Philip L. Lehman, Associate Dean of Strategic Planning, School of Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University

Philip Lehman is the Associate Dean of Strategic Planning in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. Previously, Dr. Lehman served as Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing at iCarnegie, Inc., an Educational Affiliate of Carnegie Mellon University, where he lead all sales, marketing, and business development activities. iCarnegie provides “curriculum powered by Carnegie Mellon” to educational institutions worldwide.
Dr. Lehman has spent more than twenty years in the software industry in Pittsburgh, principally in early- and medium-stage businesses. He was a “Day One” executive at Transarc Corporation (later acquired by IBM), where he started both the distributed file systems and services businesses. He also served as the Services Executive for IBM’s Transaction Systems software business.

Dr. Lehman holds the B.S. degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Yale University, as well as the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Lehman currently serves on the Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science Dean's Advisory Board and the CMU/SCS Alumni Advisory Board.
