EricEric Daimler, Executive Director, Center for Engineered Innovation, Carnegie Mellon's West Coast Campus

Mr. Daimler is currently the Assistant Dean and Executive Director for the Center for Engineered Innovation at Carnegie Mellon's West Coast Campus in Mountain View, California. Mr. Daimler is a successful venture capitalist, establishing himself as part of the $1.5Bn under management at Comdisco Ventures. During his tenure, his early-stage investments in such firms as E.piphany, Hotmail, Monterey Networks, Tivo, and Virata earned substantial returns for his partners and investors. Mr. Daimler has been a founder of five technology companies, including most recently an Enterprise Software Company focused on problems in application resource management. This was after being an executive at another KPCB portfolio firm. Mr. Daimler started his career as an investment banker for Morgan Stanley in New York and Merrill Lynch in London after working as a developer for Carnegie Mellon's Software Engineering Institute. Mr. Daimler graduated from Carnegie Mellon where he studied at its computer science, business, and humanities schools. He is expecting to receive his Ph.D. from the School of Computer Science in 2008. He served as founding Chair of the SCS Alumni Advisory Board from 2001-2004.
