1991 VASC Grand Slam of Golf
The first event of the VASC Grand Slam of Golf was held this weekend
at the majestic Ponderosa Golf Club. Seated in the hills of western
PA. it made a wonderful setting for the inaugural event of the VASC
tour.
Coming into the event Takeo 'The Golden Bear' Kanade and Dean
'The White Shark' Pomerleau were the odds-on favorites to take home
the VASC Cup. Strong Challenges were sure to be mounted by Dirk
'Bernhardt' Langer and Dave 'Monster Driver' Simon. An untested
rookie Ben 'I-haven't-played-golf-in-a-year-so-give-me-a-high-
handicap' Brown also was expected to give the veterans a test. The
round started out even but soon it came down to The Shark and The
Bear. After a slow start, The Shark came on strong, but The
Bear was no match for the less experienced water dweller. The Bear
posted a seven stroke victory over The Shark and a nine stroke one
over I.H.P.G.I.A.Y.S.G.M.A.H.H. Total for all players are as follows:
