Applications are invited for one, or possibly two, tenure track
positions at the Assistant Professor level, to begin in August 1997.
Preference will be given to candidates with research in computer
networks and operating systems, or user interfaces and multimedia.
Excellent candidates in other areas will be considered.  Candidates
should have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field,
and strength in both research and teaching.

WPI, the nation's third oldest college of engineering and science, has
approximately 2,700 undergraduate and 1,000 graduate students and 200
faculty.  WPI's innovative, project-based undergraduate program, the
