The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in computer science (or equivalent qualification) and have a depth of knowledge in one or more of the following areas: AI, cognitive science, human/machine interaction, AI-based VR, data mining, or any of several other related areas. Many IHMC projects involve interdisciplinary team work, and we are looking for a person who enjoys collaboration with others. Interdisciplinary research is underway in the computational and philosophical foundations of AI, computer-mediated communication and collaboration, smart machines in education, knowledge-based systems, multi-media browsers, fuzzy logic, neural networks, internet-based agents, diagnostic systems, cognitive psychology, reasoning under uncertainty and the design of electronic spaces.
