The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Statistics. Qualifications for the position include an earned doctorate in Computer Science or a closely related area, and an interest in teaching and conducting scholarly research. Teaching responsibilities will range from introductory undergraduate courses to supervising graduate thesis preparation. We are particularly interested in individuals with expertise in computer graphics, theory of computation, and compiler design. Interest in programming languages or software engineering would be a plus. Applications and inquiries will be received in confidence. The department offers B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science and Statistics. The main campus, Gulf Park, is located in Long Beach, MS. The University also supports three other teaching centers, all on the Mississippi Gulf Coast at Gautier, Keesler AFB, and Stennis Space Center.
