Computer Science Faculty Positions

The Computer Science Department invites applicants for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions
to begin in either the Spring or Fall 1997 semesters. The department is particularly interested in
candidates who will complement our existing teaching and research activities. One position is targeted
for a person specializing in computer networks. For the second position we are particularly interested in
candidates with research and teaching interests in systems-oriented areas. The successful candidate will
be expected to teach operating systems and programming-oriented courses. The department has current
research programs in parallel and distributed computing, constraint computing, scientific databases,
scientific visualization and graphics, computer networks, algorithm analysis, and models of parallel
computation. We seek candidates with a commitment to both quality research and quality teaching at the
undergraduate and graduate levels. A Ph.D. in computer science is required. We offer B.S., M.S., and
Ph.D. degrees and currently have about 130 undergraduate majors and 40 graduate students. The
University of New Hampshire is a medium sized institution (11,000 students) that is located in the
seacoast region of New Hampshire - it is 60 miles from Boston to the south and the White Mountains to
the north. Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a statement of research interests, a list
of references and up to three sample publications by November 1, 1996 to be considered for a
