Assistant/Associate Professor
Computer Science & Engineering
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the
University of Connecticut seeks applications from highly motivated
and talented researchers and teachers for a tenure-track faculty
position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Candidates
should have sufficient expertise in the computer architecture and
digital systems areas to teach hardware laboratory courses and a
broad range of undergraduate and graduate Computer Engineering
courses. Applications with research interests in the following areas
will be given preference: architecture, parallel and distributed
systems, and networks and communications.
Candidates must have completed all requirements for their Ph.D. in
Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field by July 1,
1997. Candidates are also expected to have a research/publication
record commensurate with experience, and a strong commitment to
scholarly research and teaching at undergraduate and graduate
levels.
The University is located in a rural area in northeast Connecticut
within easy driving distance of several metropolitan areas. The
Department offers B.S.E., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Computer
Science & Engineering. A full range of computing equipment
including workstations, personal machines and a variety of
parallel/distributed hardware provides an environment conducive to
teaching and research.
