School of Computer Science

Applications are invited to tenure track faculty positions at the level of Assistant Professor. A Ph.D. in computer science or related area is required. Candidates with high research potential are sought in all areas of computer science. The School is currently strong in database, distributed computing, software engineering, and theory. At least one new hire will be affiliated with our High Performance Database Research Center, which is primarily sponsored by NASA.

Successful candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching at both the graduate and the undergraduate levels, as well as developing a high quality, externally supported research program. Our salary and benefits package is highly competitive.

The School of Computer Science is a designated program of excellence at F.I.U. and enjoys strong support from the University administration. It has 25 faculty members and offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in computer science. The current enrollment is approximately 600 undergraduate majors and 81 graduate students. The School operates a large network of state-of-the-art workstations and also shares in the significant computing resources maintained on campus.
