We are seeking an ambitious person with the capacity to build up a new group
in our department in any applied area of computer science, as a complement
to our existing strengths in Programming Languages and Theoretical Computer
Science. For example, we welcome applicants with expertise in databases,
human-computer interaction, graphics, distributed systems and data
communications, real-time systems, or software engineering. Over and above
the appointee's salary, we can offer additional resources to support doctoral students in the new group, for example. The appointment will be made at the senior end of the lecturer level, corresponding to an Associate Professorship or UK Senior Lecturer. Responsibilities will include both teaching and
research.
