Allen Harvey Broyles Professor of Computer Science and Mathematics

Applications and nominations for the endowed Broyles Chair of Computer Science and Mathematics are invited by Centenary College, the oldest higher education institution west of the Mississippi. Founded in 1825, Centenary is a member of the Associated Colleges of the South with Centre, Furman, Rhodes, Richmond, Sewanee, Trinity and six other selective institutions. The college enjoys an endowment of $63 million supporting 16 endowed chairs, and its math/science program was recently selected as one of America's 200 best. The student/faculty ratio is 11:1, and a high percentage of graduates continue into advanced studies, with nearly 90% of its applicants accepted for medical and law school.

Requirements: a Ph.D. in computer science or mathematics together with an advanced degree in computer science, a demonstrated record of teaching excellence and research, and the ability to engage students in undergraduate research. The college presently offers a minor in computer science and seeks to develop a full degree program in the future.
