"Schindler's List," a powerful and deeply disturbing movie, is playing
at theaters around the United States. And Life Dynamics has developed an
excellent handout designed specifically for those who, upon leaving the
movie, are already reflecting on the horror of what can happen when
human life is denied its intrinsic worth.

History, after all, is a powerful teacher. And it has been said that
those who do not understand it are doomed to live it again. In fact,
after thirty million deaths by abortion in the United States, one would
have to admit that we are reliving the horror, the absolute and total
disregard for innocent human life because, once again, an entire class
of people has been judged to be expendable.

Mark Crutcher, who is Director of Life Dynamics, tells me that if you
decide to pass out this outstanding flyer, you must be prepared for a
few heated remarks and perhaps confrontation. There are those who do not
want to equate the holocaust of Germany's history with the American
holocaust. What do we say to those who will not see the similarity?

It's really quite simple. For just as millions of Jews and Christians
were eliminated by the foot soldiers of a madman called Hitler, so now
because of the insensitive decision of seven of the nine men who sat on
a court in America in 1973, again millions of human beings are being
eliminated. It was legal in Germany; it is legal in America.

The word "holocaust," according to Webster, does mean "great or
wholesale destruction," especially of human life. It also means
"systematic, mass extermination."

Indeed, it means exactly what we are talking about. But we urge you to
be prepared to, with great love and humility, explain this to those who,
upon receiving the flyer from you, may challenge the very premise of the
words and the picture.
