Tom was recently promoted to director of pro-life activities for the Washington archdiocese. He has several children. KEITH TUCCI NEW HEAD OF OPERATION RESCUE Now that Randall Terry has stepped down from the day to day activities of Operation Rescue, Keith Tucci has been annointed as his successor. Keith Tucci, former used car salesman, got his start in Operation Rescue in Pittsburgh, PA. He was pastor at the Word and Worship Church, an evangelical fundamentalist christian church. He and his flock had a parting of the ways in early 1989 when he asked the church to cover an insurance claim against him that arose out of his involvement in rescues. The congregation told him to take a hike. He continued as OR Pittsburgh leadership until the summer of 1989. He then drifted to Atlanta during the summer of 1989 and seemed to be in charge of the fundraising for OR's "DC Project" (The hits that we had during November, 1989). He was seen on CNN pleading for money just before the DC Project. Tucci got really quiet about his OR leadership after the first RICO suit in Philly. Until that time he had be claiming that he was in charge of OR Pittsburgh. Afterwards they would make up a new name for each hit. One name was the "J League" for Jesus League. Of course it was the same people at the hits. Tucci is even more extremist than Randall Terry. He likes minute man hits (where a small number of people swoop down on a clinic with no warning) and "lock and blocks" (Lock and blocks involves the use of objects to block clinics. Driving a car in front of the clinic door and then locking themselves to the underside is one example.). At one hit in the East Liberty section of Pittsburgh, Tucci had his sheep crawling through a police line to get to the clinic door. He grabbed an officers leg and wouldn't let go. She asked him to quit grabbing her leg and then tried to shake him off. He claimed that she kicked him in the stomach and then demanded to be taken to the hospital so that he wouldn't be arrested with his sheep. He was charged with assaulting an officer. He did a nice job of turning the police around from being supportive of Operation Rescue, to doing their job and keeping the clinics open. Tucci stands approximately 5 ft 10 inches tall, he is of medium build, he has blond hair, and a pock marked face. Tucci is married. --- Michael McMonagle is president of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Pro- Life Coalition. He is named in several injunctions in Philadelphia and one in Maryland. He invented this abortion technique on December 2, 1989 when he tried to run a pregnant woman over with his Chrysler minivan. Kip is a tax lawyer with the IRS. --- John Roach is an Operation Rescue leader in the Philadelphia area. --- Pastor Matthew Trewhella.
