October 1999
Well, folks, it's October already, which means we're almost all the way through 1999. The year 2000 and all that it entails is creeping up on us-- lets' hope that no one in World Weavers has computer problems, so we won't miss out on any of the writing!
And now, the news:
------------------Officers Wanted------------------
Starfleet has openings for officers in the Counseling, Medical, and Science departments. Explore the galaxy, meet new life forms and new civilizations, and boldly go into the vast unknowns of space. Writers need have no experience with Star Trek to be a part of Starfleet. For more information, visit the Starfleet Web page at http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/~roboman/starfleet.html or contact the Personnel Office at <shatavari@flashcom.net>
------------------Looking for Staff----------------
Camp Venture is in need of talented, patient individuals to help train and mentor World Weavers' new writers. CV Staff must have a good knowledge of at least one world, good writing skills, and the ability to explain how interactive fiction works to new writers.
For more information or to volunteer, please email Mia Sherman <shatavari@flashcom.net>.
-------------------Nominate!----------------
We have a great many excellent writers in World Weavers, as everyone should be aware already. And what better way to tell someone than to nominate them for one of the World Weavers Awards?
Visit the Awards page at http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/~roboman/awards.html to view the past winners, current nominees, and to submit your own nominations for next year's awards. Remember, you can nominate for any post in any unit written between June 1, 1999 and May 31, 2000, and it's completely anonymous.
If you like a post you read, tell the author. And then visit the form and nominate it for the Y2K Weaver Awards!
