"This is no joke, Vai! How would you feel if you couldn't... finish?"

"Oh, I would be disappointed, certainly, but it's not the end of the world!
I'm sure it's only because of your guilt over Mala. You have to let go of
that, you know. You have no business torturing yourself over something she
may not even object to. Now, come on, let's try one more time. We still
have almost half an hour before we have to get ready."

Hower still looked terribly gloomy and Vai almost gave up. Ke knew they
shouldn't be doing this anyway, but Vai had never been very good at keeping
promises to kemself-- especially ones ke didn't like.

"Close your eyes," Vai whispered.

Hower looked at kem skeptically, but did as he was told.

Vai leaned over and kissed him. Then kir hair seemed to come alive,
whispering over Hower's skin. His eyes popped open at the slight tingling
sensation on his skin. Vai kissed them closed. "It won't hurt you," Vai
assured him. He relaxed slightly under kir gentle assault and Vai explored
him with hands and tongue and mouth and tentacles, feeling and tasting him.

"Oh God!" he gasped, his eyes snapping open again, as kir 'hair' slipped
down and wrapped around his hardening member.

Vai grinned at him mischievously and raised kir hands. "Look ma, no hands."

There was a beep and the computer spoke, reminding them of the time. Vai
had thought beforehand to set it to do so, so that they would have plenty of
time to clean up before the meeting.

Neither of them heard it.

They lay and let their breathing return to normal. Vai stretched,
luxuriating in the sated feeling within kemself.

Kir eyes fell on a chronometer. Ke yelped and rolled out of the bed.
"Hower, we've got to hurry, or we'll be late!"

Hower sat up and looked at the timepiece... and swore as he grabbed for his
crumpled uniform. Vai didn't speak Betazoid, but had heard those words a
few times and knew their general meanings. Not that ke needed to speak the
language, with the emotions emanating from the man.

They hit the lift at a run and then stood in silence a few seconds as it
started for the conference room. Vai could feel from Hower how close to
boiling he was.

"I'm sorry," ke apologised. "I shouldn't have."

"*We* shouldn't have," he corrected. "And if this damned lift doesn't speed
up..." Vai gasped suddenly and he turned to look at the hermaphrodite in
concern. "Are you all right?"

Vai looked at him in surprise. "You're sterile?"

"What?" he asked in confusion.

Vai opened kir mouth to explain, but the lift doors whispered open then and
the two dashed out, hoping against hope that they'd get there on time.
