JOB OPENING Post-Doctoral Position School of Computing University of Utah The University of Utah Institute for Scientific Computing and Imaging (SCI) is seeking a post-doctorial scientist with a background in computer science, applied math, or electrical engineering who is interested in visualization, image processing, and 3D modeling. Of particular interest are people with experience in numerical analysis and partial differential equations. This person will become a member of our team and study applications of level-set methods, differential equations, and estimation theory to problems in image processing, medical imaging, and computer graphics. The candidate will be expected to conduct collaborative research and disseminate research results through conference presentations and publications. The SCI Institute is a 50-person scientific computing, imaging, and visualization group within the School of Computing. The SCI Institute facilities include: an SGI Origin 2000 Reality Monster (96 processors), as part of the SGI-Utah Visual Supercomputing Center; an SGI Power Onyx (14 processors); an SGI Origin 200 (2 processors); an SGI Challenge DM Server (2 processors); and numerous individual Unix and Windows graphics workstations.
