To keep abreast of the latest research and the work of our colleagues, the HCII holds a formal seminar series, plus a number of informal meetings and an email and bboard system. The public are invited to attend.

The formal seminar series takes place weekly during the academic year. Talks take place on Wednesdays, 3:30pm-5:00pm, in Newell-Simon Hall room 1305 on the CMU campus. Speaker suggestions can be sent to Brad Myers at

PhD Lunch Seminar

The PhD lunch seminar is an informal monthly get-together for Ph.D. students interested in HCI topics and research. Lunch is served, and an invited speaker talks informally about their work.

HCII Faculty luncheon

The HCII has a monthly faculty lunch meeting. It is the second Wednesday of each month, from 12-1:30. In addition to HCII business, there are usually one or two short research talks.
