The Practice Job Fair: Training for the Big Event

Mark your calendar for the first Carnegie Mellon mock job fair!

If the thought of attending a job fair makes you nervous, don't miss this opportunity to train for the big event. Before entering the practice job fair, "warm up" in the McKenna/Peter room. Career Center "coaches" will be on hand to provide information about greeting employers, developing a job fair strategy, and improving your resume. Be sure to stop by to watch the job fair video and to pick up a tip sheet with employer quotes and suggestions regarding job fairs. Once your game plan is in order, practice your approach with a whole "team" of approximately 15 volunteer employers who will be participating in the event. The employers will help you practice by going through the motions of a typical job fair.
