Definition: Fixed Protection - any piece of climbing equipment which remains
in place.
General Rules:
1. All Park rules and regulations must be observed.
2. All placements of fixed protection at Enchanted Rock must be approved
by TPWD.
3. All application information must be filled in or the application is
subject to rejection.
4. Applications must be signed by all applicants.
5. Only application signees will be eligible to place fixed protection.
6. The deadline for applications is the first Thursday of every even-
numbered month.
7. Every application must include a topo or photo showing all proposed
placements.
8. Applications for routes or protection which cannot be precisely
located will be rejected.
9. Approved applications are valid for one year from the date of approval.
10. An individual may only have two approved applications active at any
given time.
11. Placement of all approved fixed protection will be deemed completion
of the application.
12. Applications may be withdrawn in writing by the applicant at any time.
13. All fixed protection must be of a type approved by the committee.
14. All bolts must be sealed when placed using an approved sealant.

All applications will be evaluated on a case by case basis. Application
approval or disapproval by the Central Texas Climbing Committee (CTCC) will
be determined on or before the second Thursday of the second calendar month
following the application deadline of receipt. Texas Parks and Wildlife
Department (TPWD) has agreed to act on CTCC-approved applications within
one month of TPWD receipt. Applications are accepted in person by CTCC
members, or at the following address:
