Discussion

On Monday, February 17, two teams will briefly present their initial designs for class critique and discussion. Volunteers for this presentation will be solicited during the previous class period. Note that each team will be responsible for one such presentation over the course of four assignments.

This presentation/discussion will not be graded. It is solely for the benefit of you and your classmates. Each group will be given 15 minutes total presentation time: allocated half for actual presentation and half for questions and discussion. (See the ``hint" on page 3 of the syllabus and bulletin board post on presentation guidelines.)

The presentation should briefly describe the architecture, design decisions made, and trade-offs. Make it very, very clear what the make or break issue is. A problem frame diagram is required, and architectural diagrams should show the module/object decomposition and the interconnections between them. You should clearly distinguish the different types of modules/ objects and connections used, without dwelling on algorithms. Use architec- tural concepts and vocabulary in your explanations rather than programming language constructs.
