Hey,

Just wanted to keep you up to date.  I've modified to program pff2ppm with a 
command line option (-zm 1) which allows you merge all 7 slices into a single 
mosaic image.

I've also wrote some code which can calculate the mean and variance of the 
original brain data.  I'm still trying to put on the finishing touches, but 
you can find two PPM images in the fmri directory test.

I'm heading out dinner and will try to finish things up when I get back...
