Subject: How to get Mach docmumentation

The whole Mach public area can mostly easily be browsed using a WWW browser.
The starting URL is 
   htpp://www.cs.cmu.edu/afs/cs.cmu.edu/project/mach/public/www/mach.html

The first step in obtaining Mach documentation is to get a copy of
the Mach Bibliography. It can be FTP'ed from the mach public/doc directory
as mach_bib.ps (postscript) or mach_bib.doc (ascii). It contains the
title, abstract and on-line file name of most of the Mach related papers
written by CMU people.

You can then FTP the specific documents you need.  FTP to mach.cs.cmu.edu 
(128.2.209.192), as "anonymous", at the password prompt send your 
Username@site. Then "cd /usr/mach/public/doc". You can then use the 
standard ftp commands, e.g. get, ls with relative path names for the files. 
The articles are available in postscript(.ps) and ascii(.doc).  The doc 
directory has a number of subdirectories so you should use the Mach
Bibliography to find specific documents.

Theses are available through the CS Department Technical Reports distribution
procedure. Finger reports@cs.cmu.edu to find out the FTP directory for
Tech Reports. Paper copies can be provided for a fee. Send mail to
