In _The Hymn_ (journal of the Hymn Society in the US & Canada), Vol. 47,
No. 2, April 1996 issue, p. 47, it is reported that The Robert H.
Mitchell Hymnological Library (within the Library of the School of
Theology at Claremont, California) has in its collection hymnals and/or
prayer books in "200 languages other than English", among them

Punknown (alphabetized among the Papua New Guinea languages)
Russian phonetic (listed as a languages distinct from Russian)
Pittman Shorthand
     and
Weston Shorthand (listed as "Miscellaneous European languages")
Bohemian *and* Czech (*and* "Slovakian")
Ilocano *and* Iloko
Naga **and** Ao-Naga *and* Lotha Naga *and* Maring Naga *and* Sema Naga
Hindi *and* Hundustani (sic)
Pima and Tewa (listed as "South Pacific/S.E. Asian languages)
Bahasa *and* Indonesian *and* Malay
Maronite (listed as an "Eastern Mediterranean language")
Afrikanese

To my surprise, Kiswahili is listed, but not the (admittedly closely
related) Swahili...

Anyhow, I thought I'd write to the library and offer to straighten them
out - cheap - but first I thought I'd better check with the professionals
and see if any of what I took for errors actually make good linguistic sense.

Happy Hanukkah, y'all!
