Well, first of all, all things didn't evolve from amoebas. Who on
Earth told you they did?

Also, single celled organisms have ALWAYS been the most important
life on the planet. A very, very few organisms have gotten bigger
-- but to a first approximation, all life on Earth is bacteria.

So what we have is a HUGE level plain (the single celled
organisms) with an occasional, tiny bump. We try to explain the
tiny bumps (multicellular organisms) -- not the rest of the
plain.

If Americans are descended from Europeans, why are there still
Europeans? If you are descended from your parents, how can they

Correct. It has nothing whatever to do with evolution.
