William Thornton-Trump <a18812@mindlink.bc.ca> says:
: I have heard that there are, in fact, people who speak Esperanto as
: their first language. They are apparently children of Esperantists
: who always used Esperanto at home because the parents spoke different
: native languages. I cannot cite any authority for this; I just
: remember reading it somewhere.

I've met at least three such, so you can cite me: two Franceschi
(Italian/Bulgarian?), one Kehlet (Danish/German).
