Most Esperanto speakers live in East Europe or China. These are two parts
of the world where money is rather scarce. Most citizens there are fortunate
if they can buy food, clothing and shelter-- let alone foreign periodicals!

I read German fairly well, but do not subscribe to *any* German magazine; I
doubt that this is unusual.
