Oh! During the civil war in Spain, the fashists used to burst into  
Esperanto clubs and shoot everybody dead.
It would have been nice just to ban Esperanto.

The point was, that obviously English and French are quite necessary  
in intereuropean communication, I hope you agree.

But know, since GERMAN is the language in the EC with the _most_  
native speakers, it is quite unfair, not to regard German as imporant  
as French and English.

Hast Du Deutsch in der Schule gelernt oder Franzoesisch? Oder bist Du  
vielleicht ein Franzose?

Anyhow..., the question was about Esperanto as a second language.
Then Edmund asked: Second after French?
and I asked: Second after German?

But maybe you really love all the irregular verbs in German.:-)
