Of course. I never claimed to know all languages of the world.

   Who knows?  I am objecting only to considering it *un*important based
   on considering a handful of European languages.

I assume that the vast majority of those who claim this to be an
important feature don't know any of the languages that have it,
except English. Therefore I conclude that the existence of this
feature in English is the main reason for postulating it.
If the possibly huge list of other languages were the reason,
someone should have posted it.
