I am involved in a project which requires the recording of speech over
the telephone, in as high quality as possible.

I am aware of Dialogic and Rhetorex cards and their capabilities; are
there other players whose offerings I might consider? I'm interested in
any hardware which can attach to a phone line and make a digital
recording, preferably with a higher quality than the 8 KHz sample rate
that the Dialogic and Rhetorex cards can support.

I have found one other device which uses the CVSD compression algorithm.
Is this algorithm in the public domain? If so, I'd appreciate some
pointers to how to decode it.

Thanks,
Martin Hall
