I'm hoping for some suggestions on how to simulate
a binary error signal that approximates the
interference a digital signal would experience
on a standard telephone line (POTS).

Is anyone aware of a generally accepted model for
this kind of noise? Are there accepted models
for digital cellular and T1-type error patterns?

These models don't have to be perfect, I'm just
looking for an acceptable noise source I can
inject in my signal at various bit error rates
so I can observe the effect on segmental-SNR.

Any pointers would be appreciated,

Bill Anderson
