I need to generate spectrograms on an SGI Indigo, not such an unusual
task, surely there is some PD or relatively inexpensive software to do
this. I am aware of the following:

OGI speechtools: has not been installed on an SGI platform yet. I'm
working on it but am fairly inept at this sort of thing (*big*
program)

Entropic (waves and ERS-2000): these work like a Rolls Royce, but
cost about as much as well

Matlab: I know its supposed to be good, but we dont have it around
here either, and it seems a bit like buying a combine harvester to
weed a window box (or sumfin...)

Various mac packages - not much use to me on by Indigo

Any help appreciated. If the response warrents, I'll post a summary.

Thanks

Fred
