GRC Ltd., located in Scarborough, Toronto is a fast growing technology company
specializing in digital signal processing. Its research, development and
consulting activities cover many applications of digital signal processing:
speech processing, image processing, telecom, digital audio, power engineering,
and multimedia. The company has two openings for Industrial
Research Fellows under the NSERC Industrial Research Fellowship Program.

Qualifications include:
	Ph.D.
	Extensive research experiences in digital signal processing in ONE of
	the applications mentioned above;
	Programming experiences with C and assembly;
	Experiences with digital signal processors;
	Interested in PRACTICAL work;

The fellowship lasts two years. But it is our intention to make the
positions become permanent.

Here is an UNOFFICIAL description of the NSERC Industrial Fellowships.
These fellowships are similar to Post-doctoral fellowships. However, they
are more attractive in two aspects: [1] a holder receives higher salary since
the participating company is required to contribute AT LEAST $5k towards the
holder's salary in addition to $25k contribution made by the NSERC; [2] The
holder has the opportunity to engage in practical research & development
activities. The candidates [1] have to be landed immigrants or Canadian
citizens, [2] will soon graduate with a Ph.D., or graduated with a Ph.D. within
last five years, and [3] are the first time to look for an industrial job in
Canada. It should be noted that [1] the university from which a Candidate is
receiving or received a Ph.D. does not have to be a Canadian university,
[2] those who worked before in industry in a foreign country such as the USA
are eligible, [3] those who are working in a university or government research
lab such as NRC of Canada are eligible.

Please send resumes, together with supporting materials such as transcripts
and copies of research reports (particularly those on practical issues) to
