The Advanced Technology Group of Apple Computer, Inc is seeking to fill
a position in its Text to Speech Synthesis Program.  The successful
applicant will lead the voice processing development for Apple's speech
synthesis efforts, and participate in forward-looking world-class
research for the next generation of high-quality speech synthesis
technology.  The job is to define and execute a long-term program with
incremental deliverables, which anticipates and meets Apple's current
and future technology needs.

Requirements:  A strong digital signal processing background and strong
software engineering skills are a necessity. Relevant skills include
application of DSP to speech synthesis, speech coding, or speech
recognition; acoustic phonetics; speech production or perception;
statistical pattern classification; language modeling; robust speech
processing in the presence of noise; speech compression; and
familiarity with Macintosh and/or UNIX programming.  A PhD degree with
2-4 years of relevant work experience, or a technical MS degree with
3-5 years experience.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Apple
