I want to be able to read esps files (typically
used in xwaves) in my own programs. This means understanding
the headers. Although the C structures seem to have
comprehensive documentaion, I can't find any info on the
actual format of the files.

The Entropic solution is to include their proprietary
library functions which read the files and return C structures.
I dont want to use that solution as it will mean *my*
code needs an esps license to run.

Does anyone know what actual format these files are in,
or does anyone have C routines which can read and
write these files?

Thanks,
