I suppose this is the right newsgroup ...

Here and there I've come across vague references to a technique
known as voice stress analysis, which allegedly works as a form
of lie detector. Now that I've got my hands on some audio sampling
equipment, I'd really like to give it a try.

Can anyone explain how it works, or at least point me in the
direction of some references? Any information would be appreciated,
since all I've got at the moment are scenes from Robocop and an
old Miami Vice episode ;-)
