The next Washington DC Smalltalk Users Group meeting will be held
Monday, March 24th, from 7:00 to 9:00PM. The focus of the meeting will
be a vendor presentation by IBM.

AGENDA
------
The agenda of this month's meeting will be an update on IBM's VisualAge
products by Tim McCrimmon from the VisualAge team in RTP. Tim will be
talking about the upcoming VisualAge Smalltalk Version 4 release and the
new VisualAge Java product. There are lot of interesting new features
coming in these new releases and the presentation should be quite
valuable to anyone doing OO development. Please plan on attending if
you are going to be in town on the 24th. Read more about IBM's
VisualAge product family at http://www.software.ibm.com/ad.

LOCATION
---------
The location for the meeting will be our regular meeting location
at Bell Atlantic:

	Bell Atlantic Plaza
	1320 N. Courthouse Road, Arlington 2 Room
	Arlington VA

NOTE that we will be meeting in Arlington Room 2, our normal conference
room.

Bell Atlantic is located a few blocks from the Courthouse Metro stop.
Using Metro is recommended since there is limited street parking.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
-----------------
It is requested (but not required) that you RSVP if you are
planning to attend. Bell Atlantic's security personnel prefer
to have a list of attendees for off-hours meetings. Your
RSVP should include your name and your company affiliation.
If you choose not to RSVP, Patrick Ryan (our Bell Atlantic host)
will have to sign you in personally and it will just take a
little more time. Once you are signed in, you will be given
a temporary pass. Note that the attendee list will only be
used for the purposes of this meeting and will not be passed
on to any other entity within Bell Atlantic. You can RSVP
by sending email to patrick.m.ryan@bell-atl.com or by
calling 703-974-1130.

DIRECTIONS:
-----------
1. Via Metro
Take the Orange Line to the Court House stop. There is
only one escalator up out of the mezzanine. At the top of
the escalator, you will walk down a hallway. At the end of
the hallway you will have three ways you can go. Take
the left exit (the one that is *not* Colonial Village or Courthouse
Plaza). A short escalator will take you out of the station
and leave you facing Clarendon Blvd. Take an immediate U-turn
to the right to go down a driveway. If you walk past a long
row of newspaper boxes, you went the right way. At the
end of the little driveway, you will hit 15th St. Cross the
street and turn left. Take the next right, which will be
N. Courthouse Rd. Proceed past the Arlington County Courthouse
and cross 14th St. Right after you cross 14th St., you will pass
a small brick building. Walk down the set of stairs next to the
building, you will find yourself standing in Bell Atlantic Plaza.
Enter the building at 1320 N. Courthouse Road.

2. Driving
- Take I-66, Rt. 50, or GW Parkway to Rosslyn
- From Rosslyn: Proceed west on Wilson Blvd. Turn left on
N. Courthouse Rd. There is limited street parking on N.
Courthouse, Veitch, 14th, and 15th.
- From Rt. 50: Get off at the N. Courthouse Road exit.
Bell Atlantic Plaza is just above 14th St at 1320 N.
Courthouse Road

3. Getting into the building:
Enter the Bell Atlantic building at 1320 N. Courthouse Road through the
plaza entrance (east side of 1320). If the doors at 1320 are locked,
go in the 1310 entrance and ask the guard to direct you to 1320. Once
in 1320, turn left and go to the guard's desk to get your visitor pass.
Give the guard your name and state that you are attending the DC
Smalltalk Users Group meeting in the Arlington 2 Room.
After getting your pass, turn back toward the door where you came in.
Proceed through the doors marked "Forum". Once through the doors, turn
left down the hallway. The Arlington 2 room is down the hall on the
right side.

*** Refreshments (drinks and snacks) will be served.
Please bring $2 per person to help pay for the refreshments.
