This may be a stupid question, but does Smalltalk do asynchronous IO?
E.g., when streaming to or from a disk file, does the entire Smalltalk engine 
freeze during a disk IO?
Certainly the standard process model would allow for an async implementation.
But I can find no documentation in the several Smalltalks I am evaluating
that speaks to whether the builtin streams implementation in fact does.
