King Saud University invites applications for faculty positions in
Computer Science. The Department of  Computer Science is seeking
candidates in Software Engineering, Computer Graphics, and Programming
Languages to support both its B.Sc. and M.Sc. programs in computer
science. The selected candidates are expected to be involved in teaching
both at the undergraduate and graduate levels, supervision of M.Sc. theses,
and research.

A Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) in Computer Science or closely related
field is required along with  evidence of good research accomplishments
or potential. We are looking for candidates ONLY in the aforementioned
areas. Candidates at all levels of experience are encouraged
to apply. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.

The Department of Computer Science comprises 14 faculty members
engaged in teaching and research.  The department is part of the
College of Computer  and Information Sciences which has 3
departments  and a total of over 800 students. The College of
Computer and Information Sciences is housed within
King Saud University, the first of the 8 universities of the Kingdom of
Saudi Arabia. The College has  excellent computing facilities
supported by a networked UNIX platform: SUN Servers, UNISYS Server,
SUN workstations. Several laboratories equipped with
powerful PC-based workstations are available for  research and
teaching purposes. Access to BITNET is provided through the University DP
Center IBM 3090  mainframe, and an Internet node will be very soon
set up in the Kingdom. Last but not least, the College  houses an
important Research Center to support faculty research projects through
proper funding and  technical assistance. One of the important policies
of the Research Center is to always encourage research activities with
universities located abroad.

Contracts are normally made on annual basis with attractive salaries
and fringe benefits including a  round-trip ticket, free medical and
dental care for faculty and their families, housing allowance, education
allowance and 60 days summer vacation. In addition, the Kingdom of
Saudi Arabia does not apply income taxes.
